HAT Projects has a particular affinity and experience with theatres. Both directors worked for several years at Haworth Tompkins, acclaimed for their theatre work. Tom was the project architect for the award-winning Egg children's and young people's theatre in Bath and was also involved with several other theatre projects and Hana worked on the early stages of the Young Vic Theatre. Hana also worked as a theatre director and designer before moving into architecture and is currently on the board of DanceEast.
We have a thorough understanding of both the technical and artistic demands on theatre space – how to create spaces of potential that are robust enough to be well-used but also nourish the sense of magic and excitement that theatre demands.
