HAT Projects has a particular affinity and experience with theatres. Both directors worked for several years at Haworth Tompkins, acclaimed for their theatre work. Tom was the project architect for the award-winning Egg children's and young people's theatre in Bath [download pdf] and was also involved with several other theatre projects and Hana worked on the early stages of the Young Vic Theatre. Hana also worked as a theatre director and designer before moving into architecture and is currently on the board of DanceEast.
We have a thorough understanding of both the technical and artistic demands on theatre space – how to create spaces of potential that are robust enough to be well-used but also nourish the sense of magic and excitement that theatre demands.
