HAT Projects is currently working on a major new gallery for the Jerwood Foundation on the seafront in Hastings. The gallery will house Jerwood's outstanding collection of 20th century and contemporary British art, with space for temporary exhibitions as part of the Jerwood Visual Arts programme. The project has just received planning permission and is expected to open in 2011.[download pdf]
We have previous extensive experience with other visual arts projects. At Haworth Tompkins, Tom Grieve worked on the Haunch of Venison contemporary art gallery off Bond Street and Hana Loftus worked extensively with artists at GPA on creative and cultural regeneration projects at various scales, including exhibition proposals.
We believe in an inclusive approach to culture and attracting diverse audiences while maintaining quality and a critical eye. We enjoy the challenge of making spaces for art that complement rather than dominate the art within and provide scope for curatorial creativity.
